When the first Laundry Day Tee by Love Notions was released, it took the sewing world by storm. I cannot count the number of times I’ve talked about how there’s a well-fitting, easy to sew, FREE (once you join the Facebook group you can find the coupon code that makes it free in the pinned post) pattern that has sleeves, and is flattering across the board. People who are experienced as well as beginners can sew this top in no time, and most people usually ask why they’ve waited so long to sew one up. It gives me immense pleasure to introduce the new, improved version of the LDT! I’ll walk you through the changes in this post. All links are affiliate links, that help keep me excited to blog 🙂
From the Love Notions website: the newly re-designed and re-tested LDT now features a better fitting sleeve, more sleeve options, a dress length and high/low tunic & dress options! The tee and tunic have also been shortened.
I made the size L (based on my high bust size, and sized down if you’re in between sizes), short sleeves, shirt length with a scoop neck. Thanks to a reader for pointing out that I forgot to mention this vital info!
What this means:
- In addition to the original scoop neckline and V-neckline, there’s a cool cowl neckline added.
- There are FIVE sleeve options now – tank, short, elbow, 3/4 and full length sleeves.
- Three hem lengths – shirt, tunic and knee-length dress. The lengths have been shortened to stay current with today’s trends.
- Just like all of Love Notions’ patterns, the assembly does not require trimming and is super simple even for beginners. There’s even videos to show you how!
I used a fabulous polka-dotted teal rayon spandex from Sly Fox Fabrics. Sly Fox has been one of my absolute favorite stores lately to shop for fabric from, especially considering they carry a great variety of knits and wovens. It’s not just double brushed poly and french terry, unlike a great number of stores out there. I’ve always been impressed by how fast they ship, and love their customer service. It’s a mother-daughter team that runs Sly Fox, and their dynamic is absolutely adorable. I’d love for you to check them out!
